Life was changing fast. Time was flying. Soon, the snow would melt, Kingsley and his friends would celebrate a year in their new house and his relationship, its semi-anniversary. This seemed crazy, but so was life right now. January had been so quick, he could barely remember it. He knew things had happened, obviously. He had spent new year away, in Mexico. It had been to boring to make note of. There had been Ivy day. It had been hard, fucking embarrassing and that he prayed to forget. The rest of the month had been, well, days following each other, lots of work because of that virus in China, less guests at the house than usual, and the training of Eli’s new puppy. So, it had been over in a flash. Kingsley barely had time to work out all month - That’s why he was tying his sneakers and getting ready to head out of the locker room of the local gym. He had to get back into the groove, even if he feared being sore the next morning.

It felt kinda awkward, being here, alone. Usually, he did that stuff with his crew of manly men - That was Julian and whatever Howell was available that day. Now though, it was just him. King didn’t really feel confident enough to face them just yet. They had seen too much. Way. Way too much.

King didn’t want to think about that anymore. At all. So, he went to the closest machine he could find - a boring old stationary bike - and just went for it like he was training for the tour de france.

Julian probably never sleep. I mean, he should, but between crazy work hours, Mateo, annoying his little sister,  eating like a pig and spend quality time with his bro, he still found time for the local gym. He was probably tired right now or the lack of bathing suit made him forget what happened on his sister birthday. She’s a grown ass woman. She does what she wants. Bla bla bla. He knows. But he didn’t want to literally know or see what or who she does it with. A little bit of mystery keep family closer right?
Are you going somewhere? Dad joke Julian was out today. Sitting on the bike next to king to join him sans demander. Like everytime he have dinner at his place. How are things with Ivy? Oupsy, his brain catched up. It was weird to think about him like an inlaw now. He was always been in the family just in another way. King seemed to go faster, forgetting those wheel won’t move one bit.

The bike King was on was stationary. Yet, he tried like hell to make it move when he saw Julian. To be clear, Kingsley didn't hate his brand new brother in law, all of a sudden. He still loved the guy, the new turn in their relationship hadn't changed that. Quince was just trying to run - or bike - away from certain embarrassing memories. Unfortunately, his bicycle didn't grow wheels in time. Julian was there, asking him a question. Hughh? Maybe King got the joke, maybe he did not. Sure thing was, he answered, a bit breathy. Yeah.. Flee-h..Fleeing. Clearly, his plan wasn't working. He was still there, and so was Julian, asking even more questions, asking about Ivy. Actually, asking about things with Ivy. Craps. How was Kiki supposed to answer that? Like, honestly? Because that would get sappy real fast. A little more honest? King would sound like a horny teenager and embarrass himself even more. He could always lie, he thought, say that dating Ivy was hell because she was a demon lady, but then it would mean getting his ass beat by his girlfriend's big brother. Anyway, Kingsley stopped biking like a maniac. Yeah, ugh, things are fine. You know. Normal. Ivy. Me. Couple. Stuff. Words, Kingsley - THE BEST SELLING AUTHOR - knew them.

Juju avait l’impression de retourner dans le temps. King n’avait jamais avant aujourd’hui (à la connaissance de Julian) été en couple avec sa soeur. It’s not something he’s against. The stink eye, that was what Kingsley gave Julian as soon as he heard the lyiest lie ever. You do tho. Bite. Or at least, he did, once, when King was little. Maybe they were all playing house or pets or maybe it was to teach him a lesson - The details were very murky, but Kingsley could very clearly remember a Parker's mouth around his arm. It was stuck in his mind because it was the last time he could recall thinking that having someone's tongue on his skin was super gross (cooties) and not somewhat hot. That and, he had a blue julian teeth shaped mark for a while.

Anyway, it wasn't that important. Ju' clearly had something to say. He had the scary big brother look on - the one he'd usually use on guys peeping at Ivy's butt. Kingsley had always liked that look, probably because it was never directed at him. Instead, he'd been the sidekick nodding by Julian's side, making sure the bad dudes knew Big Bro wasn't kidding. This time, though, King had a new perspective, and could see Juju really didn't need his help to make a boy feel really tiny in his shorts. So tiny, in fact, that he couldn't even react when hearing Ivy scream was mentioned. It was the perfect spot for a gross guy joke - yet, nothing. Better treat her right. Yes sir, I'm trying. Trying probably wouldn't be the perfect answer, King knew that, but it was the truth. Ivy wasn't the easiest girl to get along with in the world for most, knowing her for ever, Kiki had had it on easy mode, but their new relationship made things different. Add to that mister's own faults, like his impatience and his obsession for things to be oh so perfect all the time and you got... Trying. Trying very hard at times, but knowing it was worth it more than anything else. Now that he thought about it, his relationship with Julian was also important, maybe even more than before. He needed to try there too. I just biked enough to get to California trying to evade you, and you want me to work out more? You want me to - Crush your sister's head with these thighs was what King had in mind, but decided that they weren't there yet... and probably would never be. look like the Rock? A breather to think about little guy's face on Dwayne the Rock Johnson's body. i mean - I'm in. As long as my arms can still touch my ribs.

Yeah, I want you to die man, move your butt. Not letting King finish his thought was better than picturing the clumsy end Juju could add. After the yellow bikini event, anything left to the imagination around King wasn’t possible. Julian kinda saw it all. And he’s a doc, he’s seen a lot. There’s just reason why you aren’t supposed to take care of your family and friends. Its… Disturbing.  
Your arms will touch your ribs. Almost dragging the boy off his bike like he was five again an annoying him when visiting his best friend now girlfriend. He wanted to say will touch whatever you want but you know people change and Julian don’t want to go there. Kingsley will run away like he used to do when Julian tried to scare him out of his room because teens hide monster under their beds you know.
You ready? Taking weights way too heavy even for him to put in King’s hands to mess with him. They knew each other all their life but to see him struggle so much was almost funny.

These weights were clearly too heavy - Kingsley could see it by the number engraved on their side. Julian was messing with him, hazing the new guy, or maybe he just wanted to mess his sister's new boyfriend's arms for a while, so he couldn't cuddle her anymore. Mean, King thought, grabbing the way-too-heavy-weights. He never would've pictured Julian so sneaky. To the lil' Delarosa, the big Parker had always had been a family guy, there for his friends. Proof of that was him adopting a dead friend's kid with his best friend's ex-girlfriend. WAIT. He almost dropped one of the weights on his precious left foot, but backed off just in time. ... So you moved in with Lenny, right? Last he'd seen Julian before that unfortunate jacuzzi incident, they were celebrating Ivy day, but also Julian's new son's adoption. And Lev is ok with that? One eyebrow raised, King tried to picture himself in his friend's shoes, but it didn't work. Lev's boots were way too big for him, and too stinky - A pretty metaphor to say the situation was way too complex, far from anything one could imagine. The relationships involved were messy, the people in them a little too intense. Like, are you guys playing papa y mama or you're supposed to convince all your dates that you live with a woman you adopted a child with, that is hot, but it's totally platonic? A few times in the past year in a half, then single Kingsley Delarosa had to explain to potential lovers that he, indeed, lived with two girls, one being his ex, the other his best friend who was the most beautiful person that had ever walked on earth. Strangely, that year and a half his score average had suffered. Knowing that he had had troubles, for Julian, who had poor game, this could be the kiss of death (at least, for his sex life). If it's, you know, still under wraps you can tell me. I know it's hot, keeping it secret, at least for a while but it gets old pretty fast. King, after all, had experience now. He was a pro-secret keeper - If it had not been from his body revealing a little (not so little) too much, his relationship with his gal' probably would still have been private. So, Julian could spill the beans, King wouldn't tell anyone (except maybe Ivy, but that didn't count, she had a direct line to lil' delarosa's brain).
